Session Policies

  • Cancellations: 48hrs’ notice required. Short-notice cancellations may be charged unless emergency.
  • Lateness: Let me know. We’ll finish at the original time.
  • Payments: By bank transfer or cash. Concessions available—please ask.

Confidentiality Statement

I work under UKCP standards and full clinical supervision. Sessions are confidential unless there is:

  • Risk of serious harm
  • Disclosure of serious crime
  • Child/vulnerable adult safeguarding
  • Court-ordered disclosure

You’ll always be informed when possible.

Privacy & GDPR Compliance

What Information I Collect:

  • Basic contact details (name, phone number, email)
  • Relevant medical information (e.g. current medications, previous therapy experience)
  • Emergency contact and GP details (for safety purposes)
  • Brief session notes (factual and non-identifying)
  • Records of communication related to appointments or therapy

Why I Collect It:

  • Deliver ethical, professional therapy
  • Ensure safety
  • Meet legal & professional requirements

Storage:

  • Secure, encrypted files
  • Locked physical storage

Retention:

  • Up to 7 years (or until 25 if therapy started as a minor)

Your Rights:

  • Access / correct / delete data – You can ask to see the information I hold about you, request changes if anything is incorrect, or ask for it to be deleted where appropriate.
  • Restrict processing – You can request that your data not be used in certain ways—for example, that I don’t share specific information with your GP or emergency contact unless absolutely necessary. This does not affect the standard confidentiality agreement
  • Withdraw consent where applicable – If you’ve given explicit consent for a particular use of your data (such as being contacted by a preferred method), you can withdraw that consent at any time. This won’t affect the legality of data use before the withdrawal.
